• 来自网友【Aria】的评论1.American Dream= happiness?In the first scene Eva and Magoda mentioned the reason they went to America: making money,meeting some money bag and getting married.The former is common as American Dream in that age,the latter is understandable as every girl's dream:settling down with good guys.Why is such basic human needs lead to tragedy?Maybe they misconceive happiness only as material satisfaction in the first place which makes the motivation somehow enslaved by lust.2."I am not nothing"_____Beautiful but Unlucky.I think Eva always believes she is something so she is bound to live a better life as she is a doll indeed.She is attractive to almost every man.But in real life,real beauty sometimes suffers more as the proverb says because they r faced with much more opportunities and choices than plain looking ones.So the risks r huge when they r making choices.They may easily put themselves in danger.If Eva is not a doll,she won't be aimed by Bruno in the dock;she won't lose virginity to a young boy;Orlando won't fall for her and die...... Yeah,Helen of Troy.Don't blame beauty too much sometimes,they may also having a hard time.3."I want to be happy"____But don't lose faithIn a way Eva gave up her life at the expense of Magoda.She wants to save her sister too much so she has to sell herself,In the movie,ironically, she plays Liberty Goddess.But she never has freedom in America,She is deprived of her dignity by prostitution;She is somehow kidnapped by Bruno's strong possessiveness.....But she still wants this kind of life untill Orlando reminds her to be free. Her faith is Magoda. However,shall we have faith in a faith makes us unhappy, betraying everything and who we r? Is it still a faith we have to fight for life? Shall we let others use our weakness to do evil things?4.Who can we trust?Sometimes the people we trust most hurt us the best,relatives,lovers,like Eva's wealthy uncle.Sometimes we have to trust the enemy rather than people close to us.When Bruno said to Eva can u trust Orlando for knowing him few days I saw her trembling sightly,This is very interesting.Orlando seems to be the nicest person in this movie and always brings hope to Eva,but if he wasn't be killed by Bruno,will he lead Eva to her sister and end up good with her?I doubt about that.5.Why we judge people?The Polish Whore asked Eva why we r not the same while making money by the same thing in a envy tone.People do things for different reasons,u can't judge a person by ur superficial thoughts,how can u be certain u know all her past and what she is being through only by what u c?The end of the movie also proves it:don't judge a person by what he have done,maybe he will give u a surprise.We'd better not judge a person,but at least we can predict something by ones' past behavior,not every bad ass will come around like Bruno eventually. 6.To be happy____Forget and ForgiveThe ending is fair for this movie.Bruno let go Eva and finally helping her find Magoda. Eva let go the grievance and grudge of Bruno and the previous tough life and every sin became vain,cold pomp.It is not a sin to survive,it is not a sin to be happy as long as u forget and forgive the past and always embrace new life. 
• 来自网友【雄苹果】的评论      20世纪初，美国移民的心酸史，通过一个波兰女人从登陆美国开始就进入苦难。”为了生存做些坏事，真的不值得原谅么”，影片带个观众这样一个思考题？ 剧中女主，似乎从来没有抗争过吧。只是被恐吓无法生存就不去尝试？ 救亲人只能卖身？    想开来，平台的重要性，起跑点。很多就决定了人生。女主是个逃脱战争奔向美国梦的新移民。 设想女主一开始不跟着这个皮条客，生活不会被拖入罪恶的深渊。 选对方法和路径何其重要！！一开始，就求婶婶给钱，赎回妹妹，不就没有这些虐心事情么。    因为和男主皮条客的虐恋，最后几乎得了斯德哥尔摩综合症。 还好，女主最后和出狱的妹子离开的今天和男主走出厂房的镜头拼在一起，路是同一方向。缺走向不同世界。剪接真有点妙。
